Ground White Pepper
Ground white pepper comes from the ripened fruit Piper nigrum. It is generally grown in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Brazil. The grayish-white berries have a sharp, penetrating aroma and a hot, biting, somewhat musty flavor. Common culinary uses include flavoring Chinese food, salads, light colored sauces, and mashed potatoes.
